About Elisa

In the heart of Wezemaal, Elisa and Eduard Wuyts start their own coffee roasting company in 1935. This is where the story of JAVA Koffie begins. Hélène, Hilda and Yvonne continue the business, their three daughters. Grandson Wim was brought up on the passion for coffee.

Today Kathleen Claes continues the business of her great-grandmother. For the first time in four generations a woman is again at the head of the business. As a tribute to her great-grandmother, Kathleen is launching 'Elisa by JAVA Coffee' in Leuven. Because the way your coffee is prepared, with whom you enjoy it and what you eat with it can make your coffee moment so much more. At Elisa we want to do justice to that moment. Whether that's during breakfast, brunch, lunch or just a snack.

Elisa works with suppliers who share her values: traditional, sustainable quality products. So of course you can enjoy freshly roasted JAVA coffee, meat from culinary butcher Ox just down the street, fresh dairy from Kort'om Leuven and organic bread from De Trog.
